The Car 18 crew made a solo appearance at Roebling Road Raceway in Pooler, Georgia for the Jim Stark Memorial SARRC. It was a great start to the Southeast Division schedule as they drove away with two 1st Place finishes and a number of accolades. After qualifying 2nd in class and 4th overall on Saturday Tim ultimately took the checker flag 1st in class, 2nd overall, and claimed the fastest race lap of the event. Tim continued the surge on Sunday qualifying 1st in class and 2nd overall, but would finish 1st in class and 1st overall.
In what may have been the battle of the Sunday race Tim stayed tucked under the wing of the Formula Atlantic, who qualified on the pole. He was able to fight his way in front with only a couple laps remaining after several unsuccessful attempts. The performance left many onlookers cheering on the edge of their seats, including distinguished Waterfall guests.
Tim Pierce, Car 18 – “My crew and I couldn’t be more thrilled to have earned two wins. Taking the overall win in front of friends, family, and sponsor guests made it that much more special. I’m happy that we were able put on a show and everyone had a good time. Special thanks to my crew chief Ray Pierce, Jim Davis, and Nathen Field for helping me put together an extremely competitive car.”
The team continues their SCCA Regional schedule with the SARRC/MARRS Challenge at VIR on May 10-11th and the Memorial Monster at CMP on May 24-25th. Stay tuned to www.Area81Racing.com and Face Book –> https://www.facebook.com/pages/Area-81-Racing-Team/173745692673454 for updates.
