It turns out that the 2011 March Memories SARRC was appropriately named. Tim spent the Friday practice session at VIR and successfully piloted the RFR for the first time. The experience gained on Friday proved crucial as he qualified first in FB. However a spin in Turn 17 caused a burned starter that resulted in an early exit from the qualifying session. Richard had a successful qualifying session in FC qualifying 5th while posting respectable lap times against a field packed with national drivers.

Warmer temperatures on Sunday contributed to a much faster field. Tim posted his first win of the 2011 season in FB on his first weekend in the new car, while repeatedly shattering his personal best lap times at VIR. Richard finished 4th in FC but was battling a shattered 3rd gear for most of the race.
