Area 81 teammates Richard Franklin & Tim Pierce placed 1st & 2nd  at the NCR-SCCA Goblins Go SARRC Race at VIRginia International Raceway.  A good qualifying lap by Tim in # 18 put him in a strong grid position, despite a misfire.  Richard struggled with a soft brake pedal, so new Hawk pads & brake fluid were needed for car # 81.  For Sunday,  race conditions were perfect; 75 deg temps under sunny skies.  The team ran nose-to-tail, and for the first couple of laps, they battled wheel-to-wheel.   Richard took the lead on the VIR backstretch at over 130mph to take the win.  By dominating the VIR podium, Area 81 Racing took an early lead in the 2011 SARRC FC Championship points.
