(Excerpt from The Reynard Story - From Formula Ford to Indycar Champions by Mike Lawrence) The story began in 1973 when Adrian Reynard, an engineering student, designed and built his own Formula Ford car. Since then, Reynard has won more than 150 Championships in the UK and overseas, including the 1995 and 1996 Indycar Constructors and Drivers Titles. Reynard cars went on to win the Indianapolis 500 twice. They have competed in Formula Ford (FF1600), Formula Ford 2000 (FF2000), Super Vee, Formula 3, Formula Atlantic, Formula 3000, Indycar and CART Championships. Almost all of today's Grand Prix drivers have driven Reynard at some point in their careers - World champion Michael Schumacher drove one to win the 1990 German Formula 3 title.
